Wuf Shanti is a delightful canine yoga character on a mission to spread the practice of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness to children worldwide. The word "Shanti" embodies peace, reflecting the ethos of Wuf Shanti. What makes Wuf Shanti truly special is that it was created by a child for other children, promoting health, wellness, and happiness among young ones while fostering a sense of peace and positivity. Rooted in the wisdom passed down from his grandfather, Wuf Shanti imparts invaluable lessons on positive thinking, kindness, and gratitude to the next generation.
What started as a book called "My Grand-Dog was a Yoga Instructor" has now evolved into a captivating video series that airs on the Children's Television Network, reaching children in hospitals across the country and local PBS stations. In addition to this media presence, Wuf Shanti actively visits schools, yoga studios, children's hospitals, and charitable organizations.
Our intentions for Wuf Shanti are threefold: (1) instilling in children the values of living in peace and gratitude, spreading kindness, managing stress effectively, and dealing with emotions in healthier ways to cultivate a happier adolescence and adulthood; (2) empowering children with everyday positive thinking skills rooted in scientific evidence that supports how yoga, meditation, and positive thoughts can aid the healing process; (3) reaching children at a young age to contribute to healing our planet.
Wuf Shanti's core mantras include "Think Well to Be Well" for positive thinking, "Smile and the World Will Smile with You" for kindness, and "Smile and Say Thank You" for gratitude.
